The developer's full workspace: JDK (Java's compiler and runtime), IDE (a smart editor — IntelliJ IDEA) and terminal — installed and verified together. Why: a badly set up workspace steals hours every day; a good one underlines your mistake the moment you WRITE it, completes your code, turns a build into one button. When: right now — this is Phase 0's last lesson and Phase 3's (programming) entry door. How: install JDK → verify PATH/JAVA_HOME (lesson 2) → install IDE → new project → run your first code.
